The City of Allen allows residents to choose between recycling unwanted televisions or sending them to a landfill.
Allen residents may recycle computers, televisions and other electronics at two annual events. The Great American Cleanup is held in late April or early May. Allen Recycles Day is held in early November. For updates on these events, subscribe to email alerts from "Keep Allen Beautiful" or "Community Services."
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality lists other recycling options based on television brand and zip code. Visit TexasRecyclesTVs.org for more information.
Landfill Option 1
Televisions may be included in resident's monthly bulky items collection. These items are taken to a landfill. Call Community Waste Disposal at 972.392.9300 (option 2) to schedule a television (bulky item) collection.

Residents may take unwanted televisions to the Custer Road Transfer Station at 9901 Custer Road. The Transfer Station is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Residents must take a current Allen water utility bill and driver's license (addresses must match) to drop off televisions free of charge.
