Community Services

The Community Services Department maintains Allen roads, water lines, sewer lines and drainage systems. It also provides trash and recycling services through contract with Community Waste Disposal Inc. (CWD). The department consists of nearly 100 employees dedicated to delivering excellent customer service to the citizens of Allen.

Annual Chlorine Maintenance


The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) has scheduled a free chlorine maintenance on the NTMWD Wylie water transmission system and customers’ distribution systems from March 15 to April 10, 2017. The free chlorine maintenance does not affect water quality. The water remains safe for use, though some may notice an increased chlorine taste or smell. Learn more.
