1. What are the rules for using the JFRC fitness room?

Cardiovascular machines, weight machines and free weights are available for use by Joe Farmer Recreation Center members 13 years of age and older. 

• There is a 30-minute time limit on cardiovascular machines. 
• A current membership is required to enter the fitness room. 
• Shirts and close-toed shoes must be worn at all times in the fitness room.

2. What are the rules for using the JFRC game room?

Game room includes table tennis, air hockey, billiards and foosball. All equipment may be checked out at the downstairs desk. There is a 30-minute time limit on equipment use.

3. What are the rules for using the racquetball/handball courts?

Courts may be reserved by a Joe Farmer Recreation Center member up to 48 hours in advance. Reservations are for one hour, beginning on the hour. Reservations may be made in person or by calling 214.509.4750. Only one reservation can be made daily. Members using the courts must be 12 years or older. Youth ages 11 and younger must be accompanied by an adult member. 

Other play is first-come, first-served. Racquets, racquetballs and protective eye-wear are available for check out at the downstairs desk.

4. How do I become a class instructor at Joe Farmer Recreation Center?

The City of Allen Parks and Recreation Department is continuously looking for class instructors. If you are interested, please call 214.509.4750 for more information or view the service provider information packet. 

5. What equipment is available for checkout at JFRC?

Members can check out a variety of equipment at Joe Farmer Recreation Center, including: 

• Basketballs 
• Volleyballs 
• Lap counters 
• Racquetballs and racquets 
• Protective eyewear
